Chris advises on a wide range of banking and finance and corporate matters including advising both lenders and borrowers in relation to local and international bilateral and syndicated lending transactions in a variety of sectors, with particular experience in acquisition/leveraged finance, real estate finance (both development and investment), asset-based lending, general corporate financing transactions and fund finance, and has considerable experience acting for financial institutions, sponsors and major corporates, often with a cross border element.

  • Background & experience

    Chris specialises in banking and finance and has experience in a broad range of areas including real estate finance, asset backed lending, project finance, acquisition finance, fund and subscription finance and general corporate lending. Chris has acted for a range of clients including multi-national credit institutions and investment funds on secured, unsecured, syndicated and club transactions. He has experience working with offshore funds (hedge funds and private equity), and advises on a variety of general corporate law matters including M&A, corporate governance, corporate incorporations, listings and general corporate advice. 

    Chris is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team. He specialises in fund finance, with experience in advising both private equity sponsors and financial institutions on subscription and capital call financings.

    Chris also advises banks, funds and corporates located in the Latin America region on a wide range of finance, regulatory, corporate and restructuring matters.

    Prior to joining Ogier, Chris was part of the corporate and banking team at an international law firm in the British Virgin Islands and Isle of Man and was previously part of the banking team at Squire Patton Boggs in the UK.

    Chris received a first class honours LLB in Law from the University of Lancaster in 2012 and his LPC from the University of Law (Manchester) in 2013.

    Chris is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association.
