Euan is an experienced offshore lawyer who specialises in cross border/multi-jurisdictional corporate and finance transactions involving both Jersey and BVI vehicles.
He is a member of the BVI Europe team in Jersey, offering BVI and Jersey law advice in the European time zone. He is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team and the Restructuring & Corporate Recovery team, specialising in refinancing, corporate restructuring and reorganisation and with experience in acquisitions and disposals made by private equity funds, including the structuring of vehicles for these purposes. His experience includes advising APG Asset Management N.V., one of the world’s largest pension investors, on the Jersey legal aspects of its £274 million purchase of a substantial proportion of VIA Outlets, a leading European premium shopping outlet operator.
Euan trained with HBJ Gateley (now Addleshaw Goddard) in Edinburgh and worked for a further two years in their Corporate and Banking team.
Before joining Ogier in October 2016, Euan worked for a leading law firm in the Isle of Man for two years advising on a broad variety of corporate, commercial and finance transactions using BVI structures.
Euan received a Scots Law LLB (Hons) from Edinburgh University in 2008 and was awarded his postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice the following year.
Euan is also a Chartered Company Secretary having completed his ICSA CSQS exams and attained the appropriate professional experience.
