John Wang 王礼鹏

John joins Ogier with over eleven years of legal and compliance experience gained from the financial industry and listed companies where he specialised in investment funds and regulatory compliance. 

Background and experience

John is a panel member (Arbitrator) of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, a member of the Chartered Institution of Arbitrators (CIArb), a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), a council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Translators, a holder of the Advanced Certificate for ECF on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism, and a holder of HKSI Specialist Certificate – Securities, Derivatives, Credit Rating Services, and Corporate Finance. He also has been invited by onshore law firms, local universities and financial firms as a guest speaker to provide training.

John obtained an LL.B. (Hons) from the City University of Hong Kong in 2008 and a Master of Arts in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from the City University of Hong Kong in 2009. He further acquired an LL.M. from the City University of Hong Kong in 2012, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law in Australia in 2019, and a certificate on Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2023.

John speaks native Mandarin and Hokkien, and fluent English and Cantonese.

在加入奥杰之前，王律师在金融行业和上市公司累计了超过11年的法律和合规工作经验，他擅长投资基金和监管合规。

王律师是广州仲裁委员会的仲裁员，英国特许仲裁员协会的会员，香港翻译员公会理事，国际公认反洗钱师，持有香港银行专业资历架构高等证书(打击洗钱及恐怖分子资金筹集)，香港证券及投资学会高级从业员资格证书-证券、衍生工具、信贷评级以及机构融资。他同时也会获本地律师事务所、大学和金融机构的邀请提供培训。

王律师在2008年毕业于香港城市大学，获得法律学士学位(荣誉)，并分别在2009年和2012年获得了香港城市大学颁发的文学硕士(仲裁与争议解决)学位和法学硕士学位。他在2019年取得了澳大利亚法律学院颁发的法律实践毕业文凭，并在2022年获得了英国牛津大学赛德商学院颁发的牛津区块链战略课程证书。

王律师的母语是普通话和闽南话，并会流利的英文和粤语。

王律师发表了多篇实用性法律文章，其中包括《简述香港虚拟货币服务提供商发牌制度》，发表于《广州仲裁委员会》(2022年11月25日)；《浅析仲裁庭对仲裁条款前置协商程序不被遵从时的处理和应对——从香港高等法院一宗案例谈起》，发表于《广州仲裁委员会》(2021年8月18日)以及《卖方合规官如何建立一项有效的穿墙制度》(与吴博士合著)，发表于《香港律师》(2021年7月16日)。

他同时在若干个学术会议上进行演讲，包括2021年3日-5日在由香港恒生大学和玛希敦大学组织的国际商业学院亚太地区会议上与吴博士和Snell教授共同演讲的《促进香港金融牌照公司的合作性合规：从一个关系信号的视角》，以及2020年12月8-10日在由香港恒生大学组织的国际商业学院（AIB）东南亚地区会议与吴博士共同演讲的《香港证券及期货事务监察委员会对持牌公司进行检查时的酌情权》。
