Nicolas Bonora

Nicolas is counsel in the Banking and Finance team at Ogier, based in Luxembourg. He specialises in leveraged finance, real estate finance, fund finance, cross-border acquisition finance, restructurings and high yield debt offerings.

Background and experience

Nicolas has broad experience as Luxembourg local counsel on both the borrower side and lending side of syndicated credit facilities with Luxembourg borrowers and/or Luxembourg guarantors, and also as Luxembourg adviser on high yield debt issuance. His experience also includes fund financings and real estate financings. With more than 10 years of experience, Nicolas is a seasoned finance lawyer with in-depth knowledge of Luxembourg law and financing structures.

Before joining Ogier, Nicolas Bonora was counsel in the banking and finance department of another international firm, which he joined in 2013. He is a graduate of the Strasbourg University in France where he holds a postgraduate degree in banking and finance law. Nicolas has more than 10 years of experience working on Luxembourg financing matters and also worked for one year in New York. He has published several articles on cross-border lending, insolvency and financial collateral arrangements.

Nicolas is a member of several professional associations such as the ALJB and the IBA.
