Shanshan Huang 黃姍姍

Shanshan is a senior legal manager in the Dispute Resolution team in the Hong Kong office. Shanshan has over a decade’s experience in representing clients in front of all levels of PRC courts, Senior Courts of England and Wales and High Court of Hong Kong. She also frequently represented clients in front of international arbitration centres, including CIETAC, SIAC, HKIAC and LICA etc. Shanshan has a special focus on representing Chinese clients on cross-border contentious matters.

Since joining Ogier in 2023, Shanshan has been involved in various matters such as interim injunctions, shareholder disputes (including ones relating to corporate governance), fund disputes and cross-border insolvency matters etc.

Background and experience

Shanshan started her legal career as a PRC attorney-at-law in Guangzhou after obtaining her master and bachelor degree in Law at Sun Yat-Sen University in 2005. After practising in the PRC for four years, she went to London to study English law and was trained as an English solicitor with an international law firm before coming back to Hong Kong to continue her practice in 2014. 

Before joining Ogier, Shanshan worked for almost seven years in a Magic Circle firm’s Dispute Resolution team in Hong Kong where she frequently advised major global financial institutions and corporations on their most sensitive and complex commercial disputes and regulatory investigations in Asia. Her practice focused on China-related matters and represented mainland clients (especially SOEs) in front of Hong Kong High Court and financial regulators. She also has experience advising clients in Hong Kong liquidation proceedings and the administrators in the administration of a high profile estate in Hong Kong. 

Prior to that, Shanshan was trained as an English solicitor in another international firm in London, where she spent half year respectively in their Dispute Resolution/Arbitration team in London and Singapore.

Shanshan was first qualified as an attorney-at-law in the PRC and practised in Guangzhou for five years, frequently advocating clients in front of all levels of PRC courts and arbitration centres.

姗姗在中国大陆长大，2005年在中山 大学获得法学硕士和学士学位后，在 广州开始了她的律师生涯。

在中国执业4年后，她前往伦敦学习 英国法律，并在美国伟凯律师事务所（伦敦办公室）接受英国律师培训，并于 2014 年返回香港继续执业。姗姗在中国各级法院、英格兰和威尔 士高级法院以及香港高等法院代表客 户出庭的经验超过十年。她还经常代 表客户在国际仲裁中心出庭，包括中 国国际经济贸易仲裁委员会 (CIETAC)、新加坡国际仲裁中心 (SIAC)、香港国际仲裁中心 (HKIAC) 和伦敦国际仲裁院 (LICA) 等。姗姗尤其擅长代表中国客户处理 跨境争议事务。

在2023 年加入Ogier后，姗姗参与的 案件包括 BVI法院的禁制令申请，股 东就公司的管治权产生的纠纷，开曼 群岛的投资资金纠纷，及跨境清算事 宜等。

在加入 Ogier 之前，姗姗在年利达 律师事务所的香港办公室的争议解决 团队工作了近 7 年，并经常为全球主 要金融机构和公司就其在亚洲最敏感 和复杂的商业争议和监管调查提供 咨询。

她的执业重点是与中国相关的争议解 决法律事务，并在香港高等法院和金 融监管机构面前代表过大陆客户（尤其是国有企业）。她还曾代表遗 产管理人处理在香港的一项知名遗产 管理项目。

在此之前，姗姗曾在伦敦美国伟凯律 师事务所工作两年，包括分别在其伦 敦和新加坡争议解决 / 仲裁团队各 工作了半年。

姗姗最早期获得中国律师资格，并在 广州执业5年，经常在中国各级法院 和仲裁中心为客户出庭辩护。
