Victoria deals with a broad variety of clients and has been advising for many years on will drafting, succession planning and estate administration. For Jersey based clients, Victoria also provides advice on post death issues such as forced heirship, the registration of immovable wills, probate applications, tutelles, the role and right of executors, heirs and beneficiaries, lasting powers of attorney and she acts as a Court appointed Delegate for a number of incapacitated clients.
When dealing with clients who are internationally based, Victoria advises on complex private international law issues such as the construction and validity of wills, domicile issues and the situs or ownership of assets from a pre and post death point of view. The Ogier Wills and Probate team, led by Victoria, is highly experienced in registering foreign powers of attorney and providing will and probate services for clients who have assets in the Island or for families who are dealing with an estate where there is a Jersey asset that requires administering.
Victoria is also a qualified Jersey Advocate and has appeared in Court locally on matters such as the variation of a will, applications in relation to the actions of an Executor, for a statutory will and claims against an estate.
Victoria regularly presents on a variety of topics within her field, has presented for STEP both locally and in London, and regularly contributes to a number of publications both locally and further afield.
Victoria is a full member of STEP.
