Ogier in Guernsey advises on the establishment of Vision Blue Resources

Ogier's funds team in Guernsey has advised on the establishment of Vision Blue Resources Limited (VBR), which recently had its final close with total commitments exceeding US$650 million.

VBR, a Guernsey closed-ended registered fund, has been created to capitalise on the structural change in battery mineral demand underway globally. Vision Blue was founded by businessman Sir Mick Davis to identify and capture opportunities in battery and technology minerals linked to electric vehicle and grid storage growth.

The team was led by partner Bryon Rees, managing associate Richard Doyle, senior associates James Walsh and Gabrielle Payne and associate Damian de Klerk. They advised on all Guernsey law matters related to the structuring, establishment and regulation of VBR and its Guernsey investment manager, Vision Blue Capital Limited.

Ogier worked with the onshore counsel for VBR, Stonehage Fleming Law and Simmons & Simmons, as well as with Guernsey designated administrator Apex (formerly Maitland).
