His commercial property practice covers property rich M&A transactions, development projects, corporate relocations, sales and acquisitions and commercial leasing. Jonathan has extensive experience in this sector and often acts for local, international and global corporate occupiers and investors in the finance and retail sectors.
High Value Residency and Private Client
Jonathan is recognised as one of the leading legal advisers to high net worth individuals relocating offshore and he works closely with Ogier's private client and trust teams in providing responsive, professional and discreet first class services.
He advises both domestic and international clients buying, selling and developing high value residences and offers a wide range of services which include advising on relocations and high value residency applications in conjunction with trusted tax advisers, co-ordinating surveyors, architects, site and property finding professionals as well as private banks to provide a seamless and personal service to high net worth clients.
Hotels and Resorts
Based on his experience in international hotel and resort transactions Jonathan is part of Ogier's hotels and resorts team which advises the global hotel investment industry on establishing structured holding vehicles for hotel and resort cross regional investment.
Jonathan is a specialist in indirect tax. In particular, its application to corporate and real estate transactions in Jersey.
Jonathan holds an LLB (Hons) degree in law and an LLM Master of Laws degree in International Commercial Law. He is a Jersey Advocate and before joining Ogier in 2007 qualified as an English Solicitor and an Australian Solicitor having worked for a number of years in both London and Sydney at a top tier international law firm.
