Michael's practice encompasses a broad spectrum of commercial litigation. He has experience advising in disputes involving corporate insolvencies, contentious trust, civil fraud and financial services. He has spent the last five years practising in Guernsey where he developed significant offshore litigation experience which he acquired from having previously worked for a leading offshore firm. Michael has advised fund managers, leading financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and ultra-high net worth individuals in a diverse range of complex, high value disputes which are often multi-jurisdictional in nature.
In 2007, he graduated from the University of Pretoria with a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted as an Attorney in the Supreme Court of South Africa in 2009 (currently non-practising). He completed the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme through Kaplan Law School and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2016 (holds a practising certificate).
He is a member of the Law Society of South Africa, the Law Society of England and Wales, ARIES (the local chapter of INSOL International) and the Guernsey International Legal Association.
