Alex Horsbrugh-Porter elected fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association

Ogier partner and restructuring and insolvency specialist Alex Horsbrugh-Porter has been elected as a fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA), the UK’s most active insolvency recognised professional body and the sole body dedicated to the sector.

The IPA’s membership is composed of individuals and firms working in insolvency practice or in insolvency related fields, including those who have made a significant contribution to the knowledge and practice of insolvency, and those who are studying insolvency.

Appointment to the IPA fellowship follows a rigorous admissions process and peer recommendation. It demonstrates an individual's knowledge and expertise in the insolvency field, and their standing within the industry.

Alex is a leading figure in Guernsey insolvency having played a key role in the development of the jurisdiction's new insolvency regime as a member of the Insolvency Rules Committee.

Alex said: "I'm very pleased to have been accepted as a fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association. The IPA plays a vital role, especially against the current economic backdrop, as a voice of the insolvency industry in the UK and as a source of guidance and expertise to both those within the industry and beyond it. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues within the association and providing input on the situation offshore."
