Ogier is proud to partner with Creative Waves to support the launch of its Arts Rehabilitation Course at HM Prison, Balsam Ghut, British Virgin Islands.
Creative Waves is a non-profit organisation dedicated to expanding access to creative education and supporting community wellbeing. This landmark initiative builds on the success of a 2025 pilot and is designed to enhance rehabilitation through hands-on art workshops.
With Ogier’s support as inaugural sponsor, the programme offers inmates access to structured, high-quality arts education led by art teacher Caroline Sorrentino. Participants are encouraged to explore new materials, build confidence and develop both practical and creative skills.
The initiative reflects Ogier’s commitment to empowering people and supporting inclusive community development. By enabling wider access to creative opportunities, Ogier aims to support skill-building and positive transformation within the prison and the broader BVI community.
Sophie Stanton, founder of Creative Waves, commented: “Creative expression provides a powerful space for reflection, communication and personal growth. We’ve already seen how impactful this work can be and are encouraged by the engagement and enthusiasm from participants. This next phase allows us to build on that momentum and deepen the programme.”
Nicholas Brookes, practice partner at Ogier in BVI, said: “We are thrilled to be the inaugural sponsor of this dynamic Arts Rehabilitation Course with Creative Waves. Supporting this initiative aligns with our commitment to empowering people and enabling our communities to thrive. By providing this welcome creative outlet to the inmates at HM Prison, Balsam Ghut, we hope they enjoy learning new skills, discover their creativity and experience a real sense of pride in what they accomplish. We are excited to see the positive impact of the course and look forward to celebrating the artwork produced by the participants.”
