Industry recognition for Ogier's rising stars in eprivateclient Top 35 under 35 list

Four rising stars in Ogier's Private Wealth and Dispute Resolution teams have been named in eprivateclient's prestigious Top 35 under 35 in the Channel Islands list: James Angus, Richard Laignel, Katie Baxter, and Alice Bricogne.

The Channel Islands Top 35 Under 35 aims to identify, recognise, introduce and promote the rising stars of the private client profession.

Factors considered during the judging process - undertaken by senior members of PAM Insight's editorial team - include an individual’s achievements over the past 12 months and the number of nominations they received.

Career progression, the quality and number of nominations and the seniority of who made the nomination and what that person said were crucial elements in determining who makes the list.

James Angus is Managing Associate in Ogier's Jersey Dispute Resolution team. His private wealth practice includes advising clients on Hastings-Bass applications and mistake applications and advising trustees on their duties in relation to foreign proceedings impinging on Jersey trusts. He is praised by clients for his "engaging and responsive" approach.

Richard Laignel is Managing Associate in Ogier's Jersey Private Wealth team. This is Richard's third consecutive year on the Top 35 under 35 list. Recognised as a rising star in the private wealth industry, Richard was named Managing Associate of the Year at the 2019 Citywealth Future Leaders Awards.

Katie Baxter is Citywealth recommended. She specialises in non-contentious trust and fiduciary law, assisting a wide range of professional trustees, family offices and private clients on all issues concerning trusts, EBTs, pensions and foundations. Katie has also excelled in business development winning key new mandates for Ogier.

Alice Bricogne advises family offices, corporate clients and individuals on all matters relating to trusts and foundations in both contentious and non-contentious contexts as a senior associate in the Guernsey Private Wealth team. Ranked in both Chambers and Legal 500, and described in client feedback as representing "the future of the industry", this is the fourth time Alice has been named in one of eprivateclient's Top 35 Under 35 lists.

Global Head of Private Wealth James Campbell said: "I am delighted to see so many of our rising stars in private wealth receiving this recognition, and particularly pleased to see that for all of them this is not the first time clients, intermediaries and industry peers have put them forward for recognition. At Ogier we believe very strongly in supporting the development of our people and in rewarding and recognising excellence, and the results of this approach are clear to see."

"Richard, James, Katie and Alice continue to develop very strong reputations in the industry, and their inclusion in the eprivateclient Top 35 under 35 in the Channel Islands is thoroughly well-deserved."
