Éanna is an associate in Ogier's Dispute Resolution team in Cayman, specialising in general contractual and tortious litigation, cross-border commercial litigation and fraud disputes.

Background and experience

Since joining Ogier, Éanna has acted for Neoma Private Equity Fund IV in respect of Cayman Islands proceedings arising out of the collapse of the Abraaj Group, notably, the recent successful dismissal by the Court of Appeal in June 2026, upholding a 2024 decision by the Grand Court involving a complex fraud claim concerning a range of issues including the tort of deceit, fraudulent misrepresentation, the law of attribution and adverse inferences.

Prior to joining Ogier, Éanna worked at established law firms in Ireland at DWF, Matheson LLP and at Byrne Wallace Shields LLP respectively. Éanna has advised on a broad spectrum of matters, including general breach of contract / tortious claims, EU competition law, shareholder disputes, data protection, insurance and construction litigation. Most notably, Éanna acted for aviation lessors in a landmark Commercial Court case taken against insurers for coverage in relation to aircraft that were detained by Russian lessees and operators. The litigation was unprecedented in scale and was the highest value case in Irish legal history involving circa 88 aircraft detained in Russia following the invasion of Ukraine with cumulative agreed values of more than €3 billion.

Prior to commencing his traineeship, Éanna worked on complex multi-jurisdictional projects at international law firms based in Auckland, London and Zurich.

Éanna obtained a Bachelor Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from University of Galway, and a Master of Laws from Trinity College Dublin
