Jodi-Ann is an associate in Ogier's Dispute Resolution team in the British Virgin Islands. Her practice focuses on international commercial litigation, cross-border insolvency and restructuring and arbitration. She advises a broad range of stakeholders including creditors, liquidators, trustees, and corporate clients, in high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes involving fraud, asset recovery, shareholder and partnership issues, contentious trusts, and enforcement of judgments and awards.
Before joining Ogier in 2025, Jodi practised at other reputable offshore law firms in the BVI, advising on a broad range of commercial and insolvency-related disputes. She began her legal career as a Judicial Research Assistant at the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal, where she supported the Justices of Appeal on a wide range of complex commercial and civil matters. She later served as a legal consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank, advising on LIBOR remediation and the adoption of SOFR-based financial instruments.
Jodi regularly appears before both the Commercial Court and the Court of Appeal of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in complex matters involving shareholder rights, insolvency proceedings, and enforcement actions. She has advised on the restoration of dissolved BVI companies in connection with global fraud investigations, including matters involving statutory time bars and intricate procedural challenges. She frequently supports liquidators and creditors in recovery and restructuring applications and also advises on the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and the strategic protection of offshore trust and corporate structures.
Jodi is passionate about international arbitration and its development in the Caribbean. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Chair of the CIArb Caribbean Young Members Group, and serves on the Executive Committee of the CIArb Caribbean Branch. Her thought leadership has been featured in various regional and international publications, where she has written on arbitration, insolvency, and access to justice in the Caribbean. This includes contributions to Legal 500’s BVI International Arbitration Guide and commentary published by the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) on remote hearings and the right to a physical hearing in international arbitration.
Jodi holds an LLM with Distinction in International Commercial Law from University College London, where she studied as a Chevening Scholar, and a LLB with Honours from the University of the West Indies.
