Laura Sephton

Laura is an associate in Ogier's Corporate & Investment Funds team. Laura advises a wide range of clients (including fund managers, private equity sponsors and investors) on the establishment, regulation, governance and on-going operation of all aspects of Cayman Islands hedge and private equity funds. Laura also has considerable experience in corporate transactions including private M&A, joint ventures, corporate governance and corporate restructurings.

Background and experience

Before joining Ogier, Laura worked as a corporate lawyer at Freeths LLP in the UK where she regularly advised on a diverse range of corporate and commercial matters. Laura specialised in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, demergers, shareholder agreements and MBOs/MBIs.

Laura graduated from Durham University with a First Class bachelors degree in law. She subsequently attended the University of Law, Birmingham, obtaining a distinction in the Legal Practice Course.

Laura is a member of 100 Women in Finance and the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association.
