Michael specialises in Cayman corporate matters and, in particular, mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, restructurings, reorganisations, public listings and migrations. He also advises technology companies, virtual asset issuers, virtual asset service providers and cryptocurrency funds and is a member of the firm's Digital, Blockchain and Fintech group.
Michael is also part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team. He specialises in downstream corporate advisory transactions, with experience in acquisitions and disposals. His achievements include working on the $6.2 billion disposal by Dream Global Real Estate Investment Trust which saw all of the REIT's subsidiaries and assets acquired by affiliates of leading global investment firm Blackstone Group Inc.
Prior to joining Ogier, Michael trained at DWF LLP from September 2012 and qualified in October 2014. Prior to training, Michael worked as a paralegal for firms such as Allens Linklaters, Griffith Hack and Berrymans Lace Mawer.
After joining Ogier, Michael has worked on several headline deals including the $1.5 billion IPO of EN+ Group PLC, the £488 million refinancing of the Intu Merry Hill Shopping Centre and the $6.2 billion disposal by Dream Global, as well as several successful IPOs and SPACs.
Michael joined Ogier's Jersey office in November 2014 and moved internally to Ogier's Cayman office in January 2018.
