Background and experience
Before joining Ogier in 2022, Romauld has experience as legal counsel in an Oxford-based medical technology start-up. Following this, he worked as an Associate Attorney in a top Trinidadian law firm where he was involved in contentious client matters in the areas of civil law, public law, and employment law. He provided integral work on matters before all tiers of the justice system, including the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. His litigation experience includes matters seeking urgent injunctive relief, procedural applications and judicial review actions involving all sectors of the State, including state companies.
A law graduate of Queen Mary University of London, Romauld later completed the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford where he specialised in Civil Procedure, Restitution of Unjust Enrichment, and Private International Law. He was also a recipient of a Trinidad and Tobago National Scholarship.
Law aside, Romauld has a keen interest in the performing arts, having studied classical music theory, and plays the piano. He also has a passion for pro bono volunteering, and cricket.
