Sophie Reguengo

Sophie is a highly experienced investment funds and regulatory lawyer, having practiced for nearly 20 years in the funds industry. She is a member of the Investment Funds team in Jersey and is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team.

Sophie is focused on real estate and private equity structures and advises private and public funds in relation to fund formation and raising capital, regulation, fund finance, acquisitions and sales, down-stream financings, restructuring and winding-up.

Background and experience

Recognised as a leading Jersey funds and regulatory expert, Sophie is ranked by Chambers, recognised as "Highly Regarded" by IFLR1000 and named a "Leading Partner" by Legal 500. She regularly attends and speaks at conferences in Jersey and London and is a member of the Jersey Funds Association committee, which is dedicated to furthering the reach of Jersey's fund industry.

Sophie is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion leader for Ogier's Jersey office and leads the DE&I Taskforce for The Association of Real Estate Funds in the UK.

Prior to joining Ogier in 2018, Sophie trained and worked at another leading offshore firm, both in Jersey and in Hong Kong.  An alumna of Bristol University and the University of the West of England, Sophie holds a Masters in Commercial Law and Human Rights.
