Ogier advises on acquisition of City of London development

Deal

30 December 2019

Ogier has acted as Jersey legal counsel on a complex deal which concluded in the purchase of the prestigious Five Acre Square office development in the City of London in late December 2019.

The firm's corporate real estate team advised long-standing client Northwood Investors on their acquisition of the property, which offers high quality office space on Liverpool Street. Ogier advised on all corporate, regulatory, structuring and finance aspects of the deal, which involved the purchase of units in a JPUT (Jersey Property Unit Trust), the settlement of existing financing as well as putting in place new financing and the relevant security.

The team was led by partner Simon Dinning and included managing associate Oliver Richardson, senior associates Kevin Grové and Amy Garrod, associates Chloe Watson-Hill and Michael Anderson and trainee solicitor Ben Fraser.

Simon said: "This was a complex deal, involving negotiation with two different sellers, which required our team to advise on the corporate and regulatory law aspects of the acquisition and restructuring as well as advising on the financing law aspects of the transaction. We are delighted to have played such a prominent part in this significant and successful deal for Northwood Investors."
