Guernsey

1 min read

Ogier has recently acted as Guernsey counsel to the world's largest infrastructure manager, Macquarie Asset Management, via Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 7, in its acquisition of a significant minority stake in leading data centre provider VIRTUS Data Centres.

VIRTUS, from ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, provides colocation and cloud connectivity services to blue-chip clients, including global technology companies and enterprise clients. At the time of the transaction, its portfolio comprised 11 data centre facilities in Greater London with a combined capacity of over 180 MW, and an initial 100 MW pipeline of projects under consideration in prime locations across the UK and Europe.

The Ogier team advised on Guernsey corporate and M&A matters and was led by partner Tim Clipstone, with managing associate Richard Doyle, senior associate James Walsh and associate Damian de Klerk. Ogier worked with lead counsel White & Case LLP on the acquisition.
