Ogier advises Zenkyoren on establishment of Guernsey reinsurance subsidiary

Ogier has advised Zenkyoren on the establishment of its Guernsey-based reinsurance subsidiary, supporting the organisation's strategy to further diversify its global risk portfolio and strengthen its access to international reinsurance markets. 

Zenkyoren (National Mutual Insurance Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives) is one of Japan's leading mutual insurers. The establishment of its subsidiary, Zenkyoren Re Ltd, is expected to aid the organisation's evolving risk management framework while providing additional flexibility in managing exposure to natural catastrophe and other global risks. 

Ogier’s Insurance and Reinsurance specialists, partner Richard Sharp and managing associate James Dickinson, advised on the Guernsey legal, corporate and regulatory aspects of the establishment and licensing of the reinsurer.
