Ogier's Guernsey specialists support Burford Capital on US$500 million private offering

Ogier has provided Guernsey legal advice to longstanding client Burford Capital Limited (Burford Capital) on the private offering of US$500 million aggregate principal amount of 8.5% senior notes due 2034. 

The offering is made by Burford Capital's indirect, wholly owned subsidiary, Burford Capital Global Finance LLC, and the notes are guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by Burford Capital.  

The Ogier team was led by partner Bryon Rees and managing associate Michelle Watson Bunn with support from associate Belinda Hartzenberg.

Ogier's Corporate law experts in Guernsey worked closely with lead US counsel Cravath, Swaine and Moore LLP, as well as White & Case LLP for the initial purchasers.

In 2025, Ogier advised Burford Capital on another US$500 million private offering as well as a US$275 million private offering in 2024.
