Ogier's LatAm team in the Cayman Islands has advised longstanding client Banco BTG Pactual, one of the largest investment banks in Latin America, on its US$750 million notes issuance.
The proceeds from the issuance will be used for general corporate purposes. The notes are set to mature in 2031, have a fixed coupon of 5.5% and were issued under Banco BTG Pactual’s medium-term notes programme.
The Ogier team was led by partner James Heinicke with senior associate Thomas Sims and associate Caroline Diviney.
"We are delighted to work with our client Banco BTG Pactual on this significant transaction. Ogier has a well-established client base across Latin America, particularly in Brazil, and this offering underscores Cayman's continued relevance for financial institutions in the region," said James.
Ogier's LatAm practice was recently recognised at the Latin Lawyer Awards 2025 annual ceremony in São Paulo, winning an award in the private equity Deal of the Year category.
