SIB Registered Persons: new CIMA Prudential Information Survey

Insight

16 January 2026

Cayman Islands

1 min read

ON THIS PAGE

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has recently launched the Prudential Information Survey which must be completed and submitted by all SIB Registered Persons by 31 March 2026.

This update applies to all entities registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) as SIB Registered Persons under the Securities Investment Business Act (Revised).

What is the CIMA Prudential Information Survey?

Issued under section 6(b)(i) of the Monetary Authority Act (2020 Revision), the survey will cover the reporting period of 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025 and is part of CIMA’s ongoing supervisory framework.

Completion of the survey is a mandatory requirement, and the data collected will help CIMA to assess activities, exposures and risks specific to SIB Registered Persons, strengthening oversight and the overall resilience of the securities investment business sector in the Cayman Islands.

The survey is to be submitted via the CIMA REEFs portal and there are no CIMA filing fees associated with its submission.

It is important to note that the new survey does not replace the Annual Declaration, which must still be submitted separately for the same reporting period via the CIMA REEFs portal by 15 January 2026.

CIMA has issued guidance to assist SIB Registered Persons with completing the survey, which should be reviewed in advance of submission.
