Asian Legal Business names two Ogier partners as Top Offshore Litigators 2026

Dispute Resolution experts Oliver Payne and Zhao Rong Ooi have been featured in Asian Legal Business' ALB Top Offshore Litigators 2026 list.

Asian Legal Business’ (ALB) annual list showcases “outstanding litigation practitioners” based in or involved in a significant amount of work in Asia and "demonstrate excellence in complex cross-border disputes".

Oliver and Zhao Rong are two of only 10 practitioners who have been recognised in this year’s list.

Oliver Payne leads Ogier’s Dispute Resolution and Restructuring and Insolvency practice in Asia. His practice spans all aspects of offshore litigation and includes complex, high value fund shareholder and banking disputes, cross-border insolvency, fraud litigation and breaches of directors and trustees' duties.

He was named as a Top 30 Litigator by ALB in 2025 - one of only four lawyers in Hong Kong to be recognised - and has been consistently recognised by ALB as a Top Litigator since its inception in 2021.

Professional recognition for Oliver describes him as an "excellent strategist", with Chambers Asia-Pacific citing him as "truly world-class" in 2026.

Zhao Rong Ooi joined Ogier’s Hong Kong Dispute Resolution team in 2025. He specialises in international commercial litigation and arbitration, private wealth and financial services, and frequently advises on cross border enforcement and recognition proceedings.

Zhao Rong is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and a Fellow of INSOL International and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. 

He has been recognised by the Legal 500 as a “key lawyer” and as a leading practitioner in its inaugural Powerlist for Private Practice Arbitration in Hong Kong.
