Trust disputes, restructuring and insolvency, and regulatory specialist Heidi Sandy has been promoted to partner at Ogier.
Heidi, previously heralded as a Star Associate by Chambers UK and praised for her “excellent” knowledge and solutions in their 2026 Guide, joins partners Mathew Newman, Sandie Lyne, Simon Davies, Bryan De Verneuil-Smith and Alex Horsbrugh-Porter in the Guernsey contingent of Ogier's multi-jurisdictional Dispute Resolution team.
An Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey, Heidi has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team since joining Ogier in 2020.
She has extensive experience handling contentious trust disputes and hostile proceedings, and regularly acts for trustees, beneficiaries, high‑net‑worth individuals and professional advisers on high value, cross-jurisdictional issues.
Heidi’s practice also encompasses a wide range of international tax and regulatory matters where she has acted for trustees under GFSC investigation, represented financial institutions involving the Economic Crime Division and, notably, acted for the taxpayer in the first Guernsey challenge to the Royal Court by way of judicial review.
In addition to her professional work, Heidi is dedicated to supporting CSR and DEI initiatives both within the firm and in her personal time, with a particular focus on social mobility causes. As a member of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and former Chair of the Women Lawyers Division of the Law Society of England and Wales, Heidi also champions initiatives that support the representation of women.
On her promotion, Heidi said: “I am delighted to join the Ogier partnership and excited about the opportunities this role will provide. I look forward to continuing to work closely with our clients and supporting colleagues across the firm. Ogier’s culture of collaboration and excellence is what makes it such a great place to work and build a long-term career.”
Mathew Newman, co-head of Dispute Resolution in Guernsey, said: “Heidi has a fantastic reputation for her technical expertise, commercial judgement and commitment to clients and colleagues alike. Her promotion to partner is a well-deserved recognition of her contribution to the firm and I am excited to see her step into this next phase of her career.”
