IPO expert Janice Chu promoted to partner in Hong Kong

Ogier has promoted equity capital markets and initial public offerings (IPO) specialist Janice Chu to partner in its market-leading Corporate team in Hong Kong.

Janice, who has graduated through Ogier's leading partner development programme, is an in-demand IPO lawyer for offerings and listings in Hong Kong, the PRC and the US. She also advises on a broad range of corporate finance transactions, including SPAC listings, de-SPAC transactions, privatisations, takeovers, pre-IPO investments, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and general corporate matters.

Janice has led Ogier’s deal teams across a significant number of high-profile transactions, successfully closing more than 50 US SPAC listings, IPOs, and follow-on offerings in 2025. She holds a leading market position among Hong Kong, PRC, and Southeast Asian clients participating in the US and Hong Kong capital markets.

Janice joins Ogier's five-strong team of Corporate partners in based in Hong Kong. In the first half of 2025, Ogier's Corporate experts in Hong Kong, the Cayman Islands and BVI advised on more US SPAC listings, US IPOs and Hong Kong IPOs than any other offshore firm.

Janice, who is fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, has a long association with the firm, having joined as an intern in 2012. She joined Ogier as an associate in 2018, having worked as an associate in Paul Hastings, where she focused on capital market transactions, including advising on Hong Kong IPOs, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate matters.
