Ogier has contributed the Guernsey chapter to a new global publication examining the legal, tax and practical considerations involved in international relocation for high net worth individuals and families.
Published by Wolters Kluwer, International Relocation and Tax Planning for High-Net-Worth Individuals: A Legal and Lifestyle Guide for Clients and Their Advisors brings together insights from practitioners across 48 jurisdictions. The 750-page guide considers the issues that can arise before, during and after an international relocation.
Catherine Moore, Jonathan Hughes and Will Austin-Vautier authored the Guernsey chapter, which provides an introduction to the island as a destination for internationally mobile individuals and families.
International relocation involves the consideration of tax residency, immigration status, wealth and succession planning, family arrangements and longer-term financial objectives. The guide is intended to help individuals and their advisers identify these areas on a country by country basis.
The publication is designed for high net worth individuals and families, as well as the private client lawyers, tax advisers, family offices, wealth managers, trustees and immigration professionals who support them.
Edited by Jack Bernstein of Aird & Berlis LLP, the guide includes contributions from legal, tax and private client advisers across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia.
Ogier is well placed to advise high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, families, family offices, trustees and advisers on complex cross-border relocation and wealth planning matters. Drawing on deep expertise across key international financial centres, our teams advise on residence planning, private wealth structures, trusts, succession arrangements, family governance and long-term wealth preservation.
Whether you are a high net worth or ultra-high net worth individual considering relocating to Guernsey, or a family reviewing international options more broadly, Ogier can help you assess the legal and practical implications for your personal, family and business interests and coordinate advice across jurisdictions.
