Partners Oliver Payne, Joanne Collett and Justin Davis, and Counsel Edwin Gomez have been featured on Asian Legal Business’ Top Offshore Litigators 2025 list.

Asian Legal Business’ (ALB) annual list spotlights “standout offshore dispute lawyers” based in or involved in a significant amount of work in Asia, who have "distinguished themselves through high-profile cases and a relentless focus on client success.”

Four of the lawyers featured on the list are part of Ogier’s Dispute Resolution team based in Asia.

Oliver Payne leads Ogier’s Dispute Resolution and Restructuring and Insolvency practice in in Asia. He was named on Asia Business Law Journal's A List of Top 50 Offshore Lawyers in 2024, as a Top 30 Litigator by Asian Legal Business in 2025 – one of only four lawyers in Hong Kong to be recognised – and has been consistently recognised as a Top Litigator since its inception in 2021.

His practice spans all aspects of offshore litigation and includes complex, high value fund shareholder and banking disputes, cross-border insolvency, fraud litigation and breaches of directors and trustees' duties.

Professional recognition for Oliver describes him as an "excellent strategist" and "a hugely experienced litigator, with vast tactical and strategic insight."

Joanne Collett has significant experience advising on restructuring and insolvency matters. She regularly represents companies experiencing financial distress and their stakeholders, advises on corporate governance and directors’ duties, and contentious and non-contentious matters that arise from insolvency queries.

Joanne often contributes to the restructuring community through leadership roles and academic work. She served as technical co-chair for INSOL Tokyo 2023 and has held various positions with IWIRC, including at-large director roles both internationally and in Hong Kong. Her scholarly contributions include publications in International Corporate Rescue, focusing on creditor perspectives in offshore restructurings.

Professional recognition for Justin Davis describes him as a "top offshore litigator, full of knowledge of BVI law" thanks to his ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide tailored advice with commercial understanding and effectiveness. He was ranked up and coming in the latest Chambers Asia Pacific 2025 Guide.

His practice focuses on complex, high-value and multi-jurisdictional commercial and corporate litigation, as well as shareholder disputes, crypto disputes and cross-border litigation.

Edwin Gomez has been described as "one of the go-to advisors in the Hong Kong market for offshore liquidations and disputes" and a "key lawyer" by Legal 500 Asia Pacific in 2025. He was recognised by ALB as a top offshore litigator in 2023.

Edwin specialises in negligence and breach of duty claims, as well as cross-border corporate restructuring and reorganisation and has notable experience in member and creditor schemes of arrangement.
