La Faîs’sie d’Cidre, Jersey Heritage's annual cider festival, returns this weekend to celebrate Jersey's cider making traditions.
The popular festival, kindly sponsored by Ogier, will be held at Hamptonne Country Life Museum on Saturday and Sunday, 18 - 19 October 2025.
Kate Kirk, Ogier’s Marketing Director, said: “Ogier is proud to team up with Jersey Heritage to bring families together through an exciting calendar of learning events and hands on activities across the year. La Faîs’sie d’Cidre is a celebration of Jersey’s rich cider-making heritage and is a wonderful example of how heritage can be brought to life and shared as an experience, which we hope will help to keep Jersey’s culture thriving for generations to come.”
At the heart of the two day event will be the team of Jersey Heritage volunteers who, with the help of working horses, use traditional processes to produce cider for the following year's festival. They will use 160 sacks of cider-making apples, which will be crushed and then pressed in Hamptonne's Cider Barn.
Nicky Lucas, Jersey Heritage’s Community Events Curator, said: “La Faîs’sie d’Cidre is one of our favourite events of the year and there is always a wonderful atmosphere. It brings together the community, volunteers and apple and cider experts to create a unique Jersey experience in the beautiful surroundings of Hamptonne. We love to see festival-goers supporting our volunteers as they make the cider, and enjoying the opportunity to taste, see and hear about these centuries-old traditions.
“Alongside the cider making traditions, there will be live music, entertainers, creative activities, dance and fantastic food for people to enjoy. Lots to do, things to learn, people to meet and fun to be had!”
The festival will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October. Apple crushing and pressing will take place each day from 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm.
Usual entry fees for Hamptonne apply for La Faîs’sie d’Cidre, with free entry for Jersey Heritage members and children under the age of six. Parking is limited, so festival-goers are encouraged to catch the free "Apple Bus" from Liberation Square in St Helier.
