Chris specialises in a broad range of capital markets based transactions with a particular focus on structured finance. He has worked on a variety of structures, including CLOs (together with synthetic CLOs), RMBS, CMBS, ABS, warehouse lending, repo-lending, repackagings, risk retentions and asset-based lending. Chris also has experience in a range derivative transactions, as well as stock exchange listings.

Background and experience

Chris started his career in London at Allen & Overy before moving to Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. During his time in London, he worked on numerous structured finance transactions and was seconded to several leading banks, including Credit Suisse and RBS.

Chris moved to another leading Cayman law firm in 2015, where he continued to develop his structured finance experience. In 2018, Chris co-founded a tech startup in the UK before returning to law in 2021 as counsel at Ogier.

He has a keen interest in technology and in particular blockchain, digital assets and decentralised finance (DeFI) and is a founding member of Digital Cayman, a non-profit industry body cultivating economic development and providing a voice for the Cayman Islands' digital sector. He currently sits as a member of its board.
