Marcus Hallan

Marcus advises on a wide range of banking, finance and corporate transactions, involving private M&A, public offerings, corporate restructurings, investment funds and corporate governance. He also has considerable experience in capital call and subscription fund finance, acting for financial institutions, sponsors and major corporates, frequently with a cross-border element. Marcus is also a member of Ogier's Technology and Web 3 sector group.

Background and experience

Marcus specialises in corporate, banking and finance, advising on a wide range of transactions, including investment fund launches and financings, private M&A, equity capital market listings, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and corporate governance.

Marcus is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team with experience in advising both private equity sponsors and financial institutions on subscription and capital call financings. Marcus has also advised banks, funds and corporates located in the Latin America region on a range of finance, regulatory, public listings, as well as corporate and restructuring matters.

Prior to joining Ogier, Marcus was part of the finance, funds and corporate team of another firm in the Cayman Islands as well as the corporate team of another firm in the BVI. Marcus was a member of the corporate finance team of a major London firm where he was involved with a wide range of M&A transactions along with initial public offerings.

Marcus has published articles on establishing business companies in the BVI and on the subject of voidable transactions for companies facing insolvency.

Marcus is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association, the BVI Bar Association and the Law Society of England and Wales.
