Nicole Austin-Vautier

Nicole is an associate in the dispute resolution team. Nicole has been involved in some of the most sensitive and challenging case types within the litigation spectrum partly as a result of the criminal defence experience acquired earlier in her career. Nicole has also gained experience in general commercial matters, providing support to lead advisers on a range of contentious matters.

Background and experience

Prior to joining the firm, Nicole worked in the litigation department of another full-service offshore law firm, specialising in criminal law for approximately five years before moving into the commercial litigation team.

Nicole supported lead advisers on a range of cases including high profile historic abuse trials. In addition, she was direct support to the Bâtonnier in all aspects of his role as head of the Jersey Bar. Latterly, as part of the commercial litigation department, Nicole assisted all members of the team on a wide range of commercial, trust and insurance matters (to include in connection with the landmark trust dispute, Crociani v Crociani).

Prior to her career in law, Nicole studied criminology with law (joint honours) and later completed the graduate diploma in law (with commendation) at the University of Law. 

Nicole commenced her training contract to qualify as an English solicitor with Ogier in September 2022. She recently qualified in March 2024 having successfully completed the firm's training program.
