Philippe Burgener

Philippe is a non-practising counsel in Ogier's Investment Funds team based in Luxembourg. He advises international clients on the structuring, restructuring and ongoing operation of Luxembourg based regulated and unregulated investment funds, the setting up and operation of alternative investment fund managers (AIFM) and UCITS management companies.

Background and experience

Beside his activity with Ogier, Philippe acts as an independent non-executive director for regulated and unregulated fund vehicles, investment fund managers, special purpose vehicles and other corporate entities.

Philippe has more than 20 years of experience working in legal services and in the asset management industry in Switzerland and Luxembourg. Prior to joining Ogier, Philippe worked at leading international law firms and asset management companies. He graduated from the Université de Fribourg with an MA in Law and from the University of Zürich with an LL.M in international economic law.

Philippe passed the Brevet d'Avocat in the Canton of Fribourg and is fluent in English, French, German and Swiss-German and has a basic knowledge of Dutch and Luxembourgish.
