Ross Forde

Ross is a managing associate in Ogier's Banking and Finance team in Jersey.

He is a banking specialist with extensive experience advising on a broad range of high-value international transactions. He acts for leading financial institutions and corporate borrowers on complex, multi-jurisdictional bilateral and syndicated facilities, refinancing, restructuring and security enforcement matters.

Ross has particular expertise in fund finance, real estate finance, borrower-side mandates, and non-contentious restructurings as well as dealing with JPUT (Jersey Property Unit Trusts) structures.

Background and experience

A graduate of University College Cork, Ireland (BCL law degree and LLM Master of Laws), Ross trained at William Fry LLP in Dublin. Before joining Ogier Ross was a senior associate in the Finance and Capital Markets group at Matheson LLP, where he advised financial institutions, funds, and individual borrowers on a range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions in connection with real estate finance (investment and development), leveraged and acquisition finance, refinancings and restructurings.

Over the years Ross has contributed to the Chambers Global Practice Guide to Banking and Finance and the "Thomson Reuters Practical Law Guide on Lending and Taking Security". He has lectured on various diploma courses at the Law Society of Ireland and has also completed secondments as legal counsel with Barclays Bank Ireland PLC and Citibank Europe PLC.
