Thomaz Monteiro

Thomaz is a client-focused former attorney who assists investment fund managers, family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, and their domestic legal advisors in establishing and maintaining offshore structures, including private investment companies and alternative investment vehicles. He has more than 15 years' experience in the legal and capital markets industries, across Brazil and the Caribbean.

In his role as Head of Client Development, Latin America - Consultant, Thomaz is dedicated to enhancing client relationships and driving business growth throughout the Latin America region.

Background and experience

Thomaz has been working as an in house counsel since 2012, having extensive experience in debt capital market transactions and also assisting high-net-worth clients with international tax planning and wealth preservation matters.

From 2017 to 2020, he worked at Leste Group, a Brazilian asset manager where, among other projects, he was directly responsible for coordinating and structuring the formation of a number of offshore private funds whose purpose was to invest in real estate assets throughout the United States.

In January 2020, he moved to the Cayman Islands to join a traditional fund administration firm, acting as relationship manager for Brazilian hedge fund managers and family offices.

Most recently he was part of the founding team at a fintech, where he spent four years acting as the General Counsel and key account manager for clients, reaching a total asset under administration total (AUA) of more than US$10 billion.
