Dispute resolution expert Zhao Rong Ooi joins the Ogier partnership in Hong Kong

Zhao Rong is a partner in Ogier's Dispute Resolution team, based in Hong Kong. His expertise covers complex, high-value and multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring, and private wealth matters.
Background and experience
Zhao Rong specialises in international commercial litigation and arbitration, private wealth, and financial services. He regularly advises companies, private equity funds, banks, directors and shareholders on complex, high-value disputes spanning multiple jurisdictions, where he has significant experience in acting both as counsel and arbitrator.
Zhao Rong has vast experience and expertise in valuation, directors' and shareholders' disputes and frequently advises clients on cross border enforcement and recognition proceedings.
A CEDR accredited mediator, Zhao Rong is a full member (TEP) of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Fellow of INSOL International and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
Zhao Rong has been recognised in Legal500 as a key lawyer and as a leading practitioner in its inaugural powerlist for Private Practice Arbitration Hong Kong.
Zhao Rong joined Ogier in 2025, having previously worked at a top tier law firm in Hong Kong. He is qualified in Singapore, England and Wales, Hong Kong, BVI and Ireland.
Zhao Rong is a graduate of the National University of Singapore.
