In the matter of B and C v D, E, F and Others  JRC 169, the Royal Court considered for the first time whether or not it had the power to set aside a Jersey Foundation for mistake. Oliver will discuss this case and its implications, as well as providing an update on cases concerning mistakes relating to trusts and the practical issues that arise for settlors and trustees.

The Financial Services (Disclosure and Provision of Information) (Jersey) Law 202- is being introduced to deal with FATF recommendations regarding beneficial ownership and is due to come into force together with its related regulations and orders later this year. This legislation makes certain changes to the collection of beneficial ownership and significant persons information by the JFSC in relation to companies, foundations and other entities and determines the additional information which will or may be made public, in particular foundations.
