Acquisition of Del Monte Consumer Canned Foods Business
Ogier Legal in the BVI has acted with Latham & Watkins' New York office to advise Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and KKR in connection with the US$1.7bn acquisition of the consumer canned foods business of Del Monte Foods Consumer Products Inc by Singapore-listed Del Monte Pacific Ltd.
Ogier's role related to the financing elements of the transaction which included various BVI entities providing security for the debt advanced by the lenders.
The Ogier transaction team was led by Senior Associate Christopher Newton with Partner Ray Wearmouth.
Del Monte Pacific and its subsidiaries are not affiliated with other Del Monte companies in the world, including Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc, Del Monte Canada and Del Monte Asia Pte Ltd.
