Ogier has acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Esperanza Securities in connection with the launch of the first SFC-permitted tokenised investment product for the live entertainment sector in Asia Pacific.

Ogier advised on the establishment of a Cayman Islands investment fund structure managed by Esperanza Fintech (Securities) Limited, which issues investment interests represented by tokens enabling eligible investors to participate in live entertainment projects, including the Chris Wong 40th Anniversary Concert in Hong Kong and a major Korean boy band concert in Kuala Lumpur.

This project represents a significant step forward in the application of tokenisation within the real-world asset (RWA) investment space, providing a new model for capital raising and investor engagement in the entertainment industry.

Ogier advised Esperanza Securities on all Cayman Islands legal aspects relevant to the fund launch. The Ogier team was led by Alan Wong, partner based in Hong Kong who leads Ogier’s dedicated Tech and Web3 team in Asia, and supported by legal manager Boris Lam.

Alan Wong said: “The successful launch of this SFC-permitted tokenised investment fund highlights a growing appetite for innovative financial products in Asia. Ogier is proud to support ground-breaking projects at the intersection of technology and investment funds. Our specialist Technology and Web3 team remains committed to assisting clients as they create and implement cutting-edge solutions in digital assets and blockchain-enabled products.”

Ogier’s Technology and Web3 experts advise on all offshore aspects of structures involving virtual assets, including tokenised fund launches, security token offerings, tokenisation of investment interests, private and seeding round crypto offerings, setup of decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) and the evolving offshore regulatory landscape for such structures.
