Ogier Jersey recently acted for HiT Entertainment, one of the world’s leading children’s entertainment producers and rights-owners, in the legal restructuring of the HiT Group.  The restructuring was lead by Weil, Gotshal & Manges with financing advice being provided by Pricewaterhouse Cooper and Kirkland and Ellis LLP (London and New York) and involved over 50 group entities across numerous jurisdictions (including Jersey).

HiT's portfolio includes properties, such as Thomas & Friends™, Bob the Builder™, Pingu™ and Fireman Sam™. HiT also represents certain third-party properties such as Chapman Entertainment’s Roary the Racing Car™ in North America, as well as Wallace & Gromit™ and Shaun the Sheep™.

The Ogier team was lead by Partner Michael Lombardi and Senior Associate Richard Daggett.

Michael Lombardi said “We are delighted to have represented HiT Entertainment and been able to assist in fixing it for Bob the Builder and Thomas & Friends.  We were particularly pleased to have been mandated on the restructuring transaction as I have been a fan of Wallace & Gromit for many years”.

Launched in 1989, HIT’s lines of business span television and video production, content distribution, publishing, consumer products licensing, live events and attractions and has operations in the UK, US, Canada, Hong Kong and Japan.
