Ogier Leman advised Irish-owned developer Barina Property Group in sale of apartments to M&G Real Estate

UK-headquartered investor M&G has paid a substantial deal for a portfolio of 67 social housing apartments in the coastal south Dublin suburb of Blackrock from Ogier Leman's long time client Barina Property Group. The units at the Butter Yard scheme are fully let to Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council on a 25-year term.

The development comprises 67 A-rated apartments and features green roofs, electric vehicle charging points, exhaust air heat pumps and 83 cycle spaces.

Barina CEO Adrian Langan said: “The Butter Yard is the culmination of a number of years of hard work behind the scenes in planning, design and securing Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council as a long-term occupier. We would like to thank all of our professional team, consultants and subcontractors who worked on the project and we wish all its occupiers, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and M&G Investments the very best with the development in the future.”

Leading the team in its Real Estate, Finance and Construction advice to Barina were John Hogan, Practice Partner and Head of Real Estate at Ogier Leman, Gavin Fitzgerald, Partner. Aoife O'Dea, Senior Associate and Sarah Foley, Associate, contributed to the work on the transaction.

Commenting on the deal, Gavin said, "we are delighted to have advised the Barina Group in this landmark transaction, which addresses a specific community need in our city."
