Ogier supports BNP Paribas on the integration of its asset management activities

Ogier's corporate and funds specialists in the Channel Islands advised BNP Paribas on the integration of its asset management activities following its recent acquisition of AXA Investment Managers.

On 31 December, AXA Investment Managers, BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management and BNP Paribas Asset Management merged their main legal entities under a unified structure owned by BNP Paribas Cardif. The entities now operate under the single brand name of BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPPAM). With over €1.6 trillion in combined assets under management, the transaction places BNPPAM among the top three asset managers in Europe. 

Ogier's experts in Guernsey and Jersey advised on the regulatory implications of the transaction in both jurisdictions. 

The Ogier deal team consisted of partners Tim Clipstone and Bruce Scott, with support from counsel Liam Murphy. Ogier's specialists were led by Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton, acting as principal counsel to BNP Paribas.
