Trust fund investment in restricted substances
Presented by Katie Baxter, Senior Associate in Private Wealth 

Katie Baxter will discuss the risks trustees face in respect of investing the trust fund (directly or indirectly) in controlled and/or restricted substances, specifically focusing on cannabis investments and medical research. She will look at local legislation and ask can the illegal ever be legal?

Appointments of trustees – what are the relevant considerations? 
Presented by George Yates, Associate in Private Wealth 

George will discuss the responsibilities that retiring trustees have when appointing a new trustee and the considerations that they must take into account. He will also consider how these considerations contrast in situations where a third party has the power to appoint a new trustee and the practical implications arising from this.
