Filing with the Central Bank of Ireland: key considerations for applicants

Excluded review days for UCITS /RIAIF / retail ELTIF applications

The following days will not count towards the Central Bank's published timeframes for issuing comments on UCITS, RIAIF and retail ELTIF applications:

  • 24 December 2026

  • 29 - 31 December 2026

  • 4 - 8 January 2027

The Central Bank gives two examples:

  • an application received on 24 December 2026 will take a receipt date of 11 January 2027

  • a subsequent draft non-fast track application received before 17:00 GMT on 17 December will be due out on 18 January 2027, with the periods from 18 to 23 December 2026 and from 11 to 18 January 2027 counting towards the assessment timeframe

In practice, a retail fund filing submitted shortly before Christmas may not receive comments until well into January.

Fund service providers

Fund service providers intending to submit an Acquiring Transaction Notification between Tuesday 29 December and Thursday 31 December 2026 (inclusive) should engage with the Central Bank's Fund Service Provider Authorisation Team before Wednesday 23 December 2026.

Revocations

Funds seeking to revoke at the end of December 2026 must submit a complete revocation application, including payment of the funding levy, by 17:00 GMT on 15 December.

Immediate actions for fund and fund service providers

  1. Identify all launches, approvals, service provider changes, ICAV filings and revocations that are intended to take effect before year-end.

  2. Map each project against the relevant deadline. Allow extra time for the 11 December ICAV deadline and the 15 December revocation deadline.

  3. Arrange signatories in advance, because several deadlines depend on executed documentation being received.

  4. Consider whether UCITS, RIAIF and retail ELTIF filings can be advanced before the excluded review days, or whether a January effective date is more realistic.

  5. Engage early with the Central Bank on any Acquiring Transaction Notification planned for late December.

  6. Confirm that the funding levy has been paid as part of any year-end revocation.
