Background and experience
Oisin advises on the legal and regulatory issues surrounding the establishment of private and public investment funds in Ireland. He has extensive experience advising some of the world's leading assets managers and boutique managers on the structuring, offer and sale of a broad spectrum of Irish investment funds pursuing investment strategies relating to equities, fixed income, private credit, loan origination, infrastructure, private assets, alternatives, derivatives (including CLOs, CDS, swaps, futures, options), sustainable / ESG investments, ETFs, hedge fund strategies, commodities and real estate. Oisin's practice also includes the provision of structuring advice, mergers and acquisitions of investment fund groups and other financial services.
Prior to joining Ogier, Oisin was a partner in a leading asset management legal practice in Dublin and has more than 18 years' experience assisting managers bringing funds to market and assisting with their ongoing legal and regulatory compliance, distribution and servicing requirements.
Oisin is a member or the Irish Funds Private Assets Working Group and a member (and former chair) of the Irish Funds Legal and Regulatory Specialist Group. He regularly contributes to industry publications and consultations and is a frequent guest lecturer in investment funds law. He is also the chair of aemi, a Dublin-based non-profit supporting artists' moving image works, and a member of the board of The Douglas Hyde Gallery of Contemporary Art.
