Cayman Islands

Ogier continues to grow and strengthen its Dispute Resolution team with the promotion of Christopher Levers to partner in the firm's Cayman Islands office.

Christopher became a partner of the firm this month, having progressed through Ogier's partner development programme since joining Ogier in 2021.

Christopher's promotion further strengthens Ogier's Dispute Resolution team in Cayman, which now comprises eight partners and a total of 29 fee earners.

Christopher has over a decade of experience practising in the Cayman Islands with significant experience in all aspects of the firm's contentious practice areas. In particular, he has significant experience in restructuring and insolvency proceedings, contentious private client disputes, complex commercial litigation, including fraud and asset tracing claims. He routinely appears before all levels of the Cayman Islands Courts including the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal and the Privy Council.

During his time in Cayman, Christopher has acted in a number of the leading cases in the jurisdiction in each of the above practice areas including: Re Stingray Trust, Pearson v Primeo, Culross Global SPC v Strategic Turnaround, Braga v Equity Trust, In the matter of Torchlight Fund LP, Torchlight GP v Millinium Asset Pty et al and AHAB v SICL et al (the most significant fraud proceedings ever heard in the Cayman Islands).

He is ranked by Chambers and Partners as an Up and Coming Lawyer, as a Rising Star by Legal 500, and as a leading Commercial Litigation legal figure by Who's Who Legal, with clients commenting that Christopher is a team player who is "experienced, creative, cool-headed in the face of pressure and all over the detail."

Global head of Dispute Resolution Marc Kish said: "We're delighted to welcome Christopher to the partnership. He is well respected, has demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and has made a significant contribution to the continued growth and success of the team and our Cayman practice as a whole. At Ogier we're proud of our ability to identify, support and develop talent, so it's especially pleasing to welcome another graduate of our development programme to the partnership."
