Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and community engagement, Ogier has partnered with global conservation charity Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, a Jersey-based artist and Springfield primary school in a spectacular public art trail this summer.

Raising money for conservation, the installation will see 50 uniquely designed tortoise sculptures dotted across Jersey's urban and rural landscapes through July and August.

With Ogier's sponsorship, artist Olivia Grimes is currently creating a nature-based masterpiece on one of the giant's shells. Its design and location will be revealed soon. When the trail finishes the auctioned sculptures will raise money for a new Tropical House at Jersey Zoo.

Alongside the giant tortoise trail, schools and community groups are painting 65 young tortoises. Ogier is supporting Springfield School's and is adding an educational element with a special conservation-themed assembly led by Ogier's sustainability manager Rebecca Shutler.

And to help make a lasting environmental legacy, each class will have its own tree in the carbon-busting Ogier forest in Ecuador, where 1600 trees have been planted so far. Pupils will be able to name their tree and watch it grow.

Jersey partner Raulin Amy said: "So many of our team are passionate about conservation and sustainability issues and this is such an exciting project to be a part of. The Tortoise Takeover has really captured the imagination of Jersey's community and we're proud to also support schoolchildren to get involved and learn about the environmental aspect with our sustainability manager Rebecca. We think this project will have a lasting impact on sustainability both locally and globally, which is really important to Ogier."
