Three Ogier partners have been named among Hong Kong's leading young lawyers in the 2025 LexisNexis 40 Under 40 Hong Kong SAR list.

Corporate expert Cecilia Li, leading funds lawyer Alan Wong and finance specialist Yuki Yan are all named in the list for Hong Kong, highlighting their excellence and local influence in their respective fields.

The LexisNexis 40 Under 40 Awards shine a spotlight on legal professionals aged 40 or under who are shaping the future of law through leadership, innovation and meaningful impact.

Ogier's Hong Kong practice partner Nicholas Plowman said: "I am very proud of Alan, Cecilia and Yuki for the way in which they have built their practices from the ground up in a challenging market over the last few years in Asia. Their success given these market conditions is a remarkable achievement, and their contributions to the local legal community only strengthen Hong Kong's role as Asia's leading financial hub."

The final list is decided by a panel of senior lawyers, legal technologists, general counsel and industry leaders. Nominations are assessed based on career achievements and impact, leadership and project execution and contributions to the legal profession.

Cecilia advises on a broad range of corporate and corporate finance transactional matters, including equity and debt offerings, initial public offerings on stock exchanges globally, mergers and acquisitions, take-private transactions, banking and syndicated loan transactions and complex corporate and debt restructuring. She is highly regarded by clients and peers and has received notable recognition from industry publications, including being named as a "Rising Star" by China Business Law Journal in 2024, a "Key Lawyer" by Legal 500 Asia Pacific and a "Distinguished Legal Advisor" by Greater China Business in 2025.

Cecilia's fourth year as an offshore corporate partner was marked by significant transactions such as Hong Kong IPOs for Guming and Mirxes, equity fundraising for the Web3 fintech unicorn RedotPay, the take-private of Ronshine Service, BYD's equity investment in Harmony Auto and the RMB6 billion panda-bond issuance by Yuexiu REIT. Her LexisNexis feedback praised her passion for giving back to the legal community through mentorship programs for the younger generation. It also noted significant work she has been involved with over the past year, including supporting a RMB6 billion panda-pond issuance as the first of its kind by a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT).

Alan was also named "Rising Star Partner" by IFLR1000 in 2024 and 2025 in both private equity funds and investment funds. He has been recognised by Legal 500 for key pieces of work and expansion into new areas in the Technology and Web3 industry. In 2025 he led the launch of a US$1 billion cryptocurrency fund and establishment of a family office for Asia’s largest crypto quant trading firm, coordinating Cayman, BVI and succession structures while preserving trading operations averaging over US$2 billion in daily volume. His growth includes expansion into tokenisation, stablecoins, decentralised finance (DeFi), decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) and real-estate security token offerings (STOs).

Yuki has experience advising on a broad range of banking and financing transactions, debt capital markets transactions and restructuring, including structured finance, leveraged and acquisition finance, fund finance, pre-IPO finance, real estate finance, margin finance and general corporate lending. She was also named a Rising Star in 2025 by China Business Law Journal, and LexisNexis noted her commitment to her profession embracing technology and innovative thinking to make cross-border services more efficient and accessible. Her feedback highlighted her professionalism, practicality and attention to client needs, reflecting a service approach aligned with fast-moving product and regulatory developments. Significant work referred to in her feedback included advising on Hong Kong’s first tokenised repackaging notes issuance arrange by a Hong Kong-based financial institution.
