Employment law specialist Will Austin-Vautier has been appointed head of Ogier’s Channel Islands Employment and Immigration team, providing tailored advice to clients within an ever-evolving area of local legislation.

Will, a highly experienced Jersey Advocate, has specialised in employment and related laws for more than 15 years, including discrimination, data protection, and non-financial services regulatory advice.

Ogier’s Global Head of Local Legal Services, Jonathan Hughes, said: "Will’s appointment is a significant moment for our employment and immigration practice in the Channel Islands. He brings deep experience across the full spectrum of employment law and a practical understanding of how the islands’ regulatory frameworks shape business, growth and talent. Clients value his clarity, judgment and ability to guide them through areas that are often complex and fast moving.

"With Will leading the team, supported by our highly capable advisers in both Jersey and Guernsey, we are exceptionally well placed to help employers, entrepreneurs and families navigate the next phase of legislative and economic change across the Channel Islands."

Will advises on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters within the employment sphere – from business start-ups and relocations, M&As, and organisational change, to workforce management, trade union issues and disputes. He has acted for some of the Channel Islands' largest private sector employers, senior executives, entrepreneurs, and the family offices of ultra-high net worth individuals.

Sitting alongside Will in Ogier's pan Channel Islands Employment and Immigration team are highly experienced employment lawyers Wendy Lambert and Rachel de Sanges, specialist senior paralegal Kate Morel and junior paralegal Emma Lewis, a recent Jersey Finance Rising Star.

Ogier's Employment and Immigration team sits within the firm's wider multi-disciplinary Local Legal Services team who specialise in Channel Islands law.
